Sean Van Wert
Sean Van Wert is a visual artist and filmmaker from Toronto, Canada.
In 2013, his film Black Angels won the top prize in the Toronto Urban Film Festival. He is also known locally as the director of Erotic Tales of the Old Testament, a sell-out play that had its premiere at the Toronto Fringe Festival.
After graduating from Doc Nomads in 2017 he has worked on various projects, including a video installation at the Von Abbemuseum in Eindhoven.
Sean's current interests include paleolithic art, holobionts, mesmerism, plant therapy and queer pop culture. He continues to be inspired by Mae West and Alejandro Jodorowsky, among so many others.
He is currently co-directing a feature documentary on end-of-life doulas in southwestern France.
