Anna Magdalena Silva
Anna Magdalena (she/her) is a Colombian film editor and director with a master's degree in documentary filmmaking - DocNomads. With her first feature film as director, LOLE, she was awarded the Colombian National Fund for development (2017), took part of the Walden Residencies (2018), was tutored in Killary CineLab (2020) and Campus DocsBarcelona (2021) and was awarded the Colombian National Fund for production (2021). In 2024, she received the Best Editing Award at the Taipei Film Festival and was nominated for Best Editing at the Golden Horse Awards for her work on XiXi (Dir. Fan Wu - Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea). XiXi also won the Best Emerging International Filmmaker Award at HotDocs 2024, as well as Best Film and Best Director awards at the Taoyuan Film Festival 2024, the Golden Award at the Women Make Waves International Film Festival 2024 and the Visionary Special Jury Award at TIDF 2026. Anna also edited LAST DAYS AT SEA (Dir. Venice Atienza - Philippines, Taiwan), premiered at the 71st Berlinale, and PIERCING WATER (Dir. Fan Wu - Taiwan), premiered at Visions Du Réel 2026. Anna is an alumni of the IDFA Project Space (2020) and the Rough Cut Lab of Visions du Réel (2020 and 2023).
